M.Med.Sci.(implant dentistry) Sheffield University
I went to school in Liverpool and studied dentistry at Dundee University qualifying in 1977. I have been a general dental practitioner since and have been in practice at St Paul’s Square since 1990. I achieved MFGDP (Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners) in 1994. In 1996/7 I attended the well-respected implant course at Sheffield Dental School and followed this with MmedSci (Masters Degree in Medical Science, Implantology) completed in 2003. I have been providing implants for my own patients and those of colleagues who refer to me since 1997 and have placed and restored hundreds of implants.
As well as providing routine dental care I enjoy the challenge of complex cases. Many of these cases involve the use of implants together with crowns, bridges, orthodontics and veneers using the latest ceramics to restore both function and aesthetics. I am qualified to provide treatment for misaligned teeth using the Inman aligner system which is an exciting new option for patients who would like straighter teeth.
Mark began his career in dentistry at Liverpool University. After qualifying he worked in group practices in Parbold and Rainford before joining us at St Paul’s and becoming a Partner in 1990. Mark appreciates that St Paul’s remains principally a family dental practice and that working in a private practice gives him time to spend with patients, ensuring their dental care is his main concern.
Mark has kept up-to-date with current thinking and development within dentistry, completing training in advanced restorative and cosmetic techniques etc. which allows him to offer the latest in modern techniques. He has experience in helping a variety of patients who need either a complex course of treatment or who just want a whiter, brighter smile.
He is a certified provider of Inman Aligners and Clear Aligners which offer a quick and convenient option for adults to straighten their teeth.
Implantology holds a special interest for Mark after completing an implant course at the University of Sheffield. He feels dental implants are a wonderful alternative for replacing missing teeth, due to the fact that they look and feel just like your natural teeth. Further details of this and other treatments are available on this website.

I am also qualified to provide oorthodontic treatment using the Inman aligner system.
When I'm not at work I love to take my dog for long walks, hit the slopes when I get the opportunity and cooking for friends and family.
My dental career started in London at the Royal Dental Hospital, where I did my Dental Surgery Assistant training. I then moved to Manchester Dental Hospital and qualified there as a Dental Hygienist in 1986. I am passionate about my job and gain great satisfaction from helping my patients to maintain a healthy mouth.
I have a daughter Rosie and outside work I go horse riding when I can, sing in a choir, play tennis and enjoy fell walking.
Having qualified as a Dental Surgery Assistant at Manchester University, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of dental professionals including lecturers and professors at the Dental Hospital and Orthodontists and private dental practitioners in Cheshire. I trained at Liverpool Dental Hospital to become a Hygienist in 1986 and went on to work in a private dental practice in Chorley. In 1998 I expanded my skills further by qualifying as a Dental Therapist, allowing me to carry out a wide range of treatments for both adults and children to enhance care and prevention within the practice. In my spare time I teach pilates, enjoy music, travel and countryside or coastal walking with my husband and dogs.
